For more than 20 years, the SMP clothing brand has been an icon in the surf and skate industry. Originated in 1989 by San Diego surfers Milo Myers and Larry Kraus, the heart of the brand was making great products for those who shared their passion for surf and skate, and producing clothing that reflected the core of both sports. Over the years, the SMP brand changed ownerships, which reflected a directional change in the mission and integrity of the brand.

In 2011, the SMP brand was acquired by Marc Burnett, famed San Diego-based freestyle MX tour promoter and championship off-road racer and team owner. Burnett’s mission is to bring SMP back to its roots and fulfill the passion of the brand that originators Myers and Kraus began in 1989.

SMP is once again back in Southern California, just minutes away from where it famously began. SMP USA has always fueled both brand loyalty and consumer passion by listening to its customers… and by supporting its retailers all the way to street level.

The SMP brand will be relaunching a new line for 2011, which reflects action-sports culture and individuality. It is a new and exciting chapter, and the start of a fantastic ride.
